Please Join US Sailing or Renew your membership through the MVP program– TYC wants to support US Sailing by having as many members as possible join this worthwhile organization.  If you join through the MVP program, you get a discounted rate on membership and Race Entry fees.  You also get a discounted price ($7) on the current printed Racing Rules of Sailing.  Because the club is a member of the MVP program, we get a portion of your membership fee for racing related activities.  A Win-Win for all!

    1. Go to: Join or renew through your sailing club’s MVP program
    2. Choose Thames Yacht Club from the pull down list (start typing Thames and it will jump there)
    3. Choose New or Renewal

    • Sam Wetherill Overnight Race: May 20

    • Niantic Bay Early Bird Regatta: June 4

      • Around the buoys race in Niantic Bay

      • Results are combined with the TYC Commodore”s regatta for the Harkness Trophy

      • It is only 8 mile sail to Niantic Bay so easy to sail/motor there before and after the race

  • Lighthouse Tour Regatta Shennecossett Yacht Club: July 30

    • Essex Rum Challenge- Saturday July 23

      • Around the buoys race starting near Old Saybrook Light.  Spinnaker, non-Spinnaker, double-handed divisions.  After race party at Essex Yacht Club.  You can sail to Old Saybrook Friday afternoon (about 4 hours), stay overnight at North Cove, do the race and then either sail back to TYC or go up the river to Essex for the party and stay there for free.

      • 40-60 mile overnight race starting in Fishers Island Sound

      • Fishers Island ‘Round Island Race

All Skippers are expected to do Race Committee duty once during the racing season.  Please pick an available date from the list below and send it in an email to the Rear Commodore by clicking here!
